In August 2022, a dozen singing-loving seniors, led by a voluntary vocal teacher, began weekly vocal leaning and chorus practice. In October 2022, our members had increased to more than 30 people, and we began to have a certain influence in the community. On January 20, 2023 , we were invited to participate in the large-scale Spring Festival Gala organized by the Chinese community to celebrate the Chinese New Year. By November 2023 ,our team had grown to more than 40 people and was officially registered as a non-profit organization under the name of “Edmonton Chinese Philharmonic Choir Association “. On March 30, 2024, we were invited again to participate in the Spring Festival Gala to celebrate the Chinese New Year hosted by the Edmonton Chinese Association, which received wide acclaim.
On June4, 2024, we organized a performance to visit the nursing home , which brought joy to the seniors and was warmly welcomed. After that, the nursing home took the initiative to recommend our choir to other nursing homes, and we soon received an invitation from anther nursing home, and the performance was a complete success. From June 2024 to December 2024, we organized four performances to visit nursing homes and two internal parties, which received good social response and greatly enriched the cultural and social activities of the members.
2022年8月,在一位义务声乐老师的带领下,十几位热爱歌唱的银发族开始了每周的声乐学习与合唱排练。至2022年10月,我们的成员已增至30余人,在社区初具影响力。2023年1月20日,我们受邀参加华人社区举办的春节大型文艺汇演。截至2023年11月,团队规模突破40人,并正式注册成立非营利组织"埃德蒙顿华人爱乐合唱团"。2024年3月30日,我们再次受邀参加埃德蒙顿华人协会主办的春节联欢晚会,演出获得广泛好评。
2024年6月4日,我们首次组织养老院慰问演出,为长者们带去欢乐并受到热烈欢迎。此后该养老院主动向其他机构推荐我们,很快便收到第二家养老院的演出邀约,演出取得圆满成功。2024年6月至12月期间,我们共组织了四场养老院慰问演出和两场内部联欢会,既获得良好社会反响,也极大丰富了会员们的文化社交生活。
